Introduction
Hi, I'm changing from software consultant to writer, journalist, and media creator. Sounds like a good group, and I'd love to talk about one question - how do you avoid just doing what pays, instead of using your talents, during the startup phase?
What are your favorite books? Movies?

Mysteries by van de Wetering, movie Tampopo (Japanese) and Lost in Translation, Pierre Richard comedies, James Bond stuff is my vice :-)

What helps you stimulate your imagination?

Meditation, photography, long walks around the city.

What have you started?

Software consulting, long ago. Now, more creative work in writing, journalism, media (internet content). Midlife? Maybe!
